The wife of my cousin in the mid-40s with two daughters diagnosed, was the beginning of last MNSCLC and the immediate introduction of treatment with Tarceva. Initially had said for weeks or months, but it is still hanging. Side effects of Tarceva were terrible - he lost all his hair and developed a terrible allergy in the hands and face, but they have survived and proven to reduce tumors after treatment. It is now possible with standard chemotherapy (paclitaxel and carboplatin, I think, and may have to clear his throat, perhaps Gemzar), and some rays on the disability of. Her skin is finally resolved and the hair is growing back thick and beautiful.
Not to give up hope - always better treatment. My mother survived breast cancer 20 years ago and is now again receiving chemotherapy (Abraxane) for tumors of the breast, liver, aged 80 years, but have well and has few side effects. It just happens that some of the worst forms of cancer are treated as a chronic disease.
Best of luck.

I met people there, but as you do not immediately say. Check www.nccn.org and follow the path they have protocols for the treatment and see if they say something

You can use erlotinib (Tarceva) read on the website of the National Cancer Institute:

Studies and information on the drug can be found in the National Library of Medicine. You can all litereature erlotinib in PubMed, published in the search bar enter:

ASCO recently celebrated his 43rd Conference and launch hundreds of new studies on the treatment of cancer. One covers erlotinib as first-line treatment of NSCLC.
