I think a good writer can use the property in their favor, that's what bothers me the most when a change of character. When a character is always hard not to know, and do all what they say, * p EPE me.
Any character that was created in order is good with me. His people just play me crazy. I loved the book by Stephen King, Dreamcatcher, but the cast of the movie was awful. I hate Thomas Jane, Hollywood should prohibit.
I hate to read a book or describe how the character looks like, I can see it in my head ... After 60 pages, say HES tall, slim and blond as I imagined it to be long-haired, with Chubby.
